Saturday, November 19 - Annual Remington 5K Turkey Trot Run/Walk Challenge. MM Pierce Elementary School, 12074 James Madison St., Remington. Race begins promptly at 10:00 am. 2010 race had over 150 runners, and only pre-registered participants are guaranteed an event t-shirt on race day. Pre-register by November 8th. The ever-coveted Thanksgiving turkeys, pumpkin pies and poinsettias will be awarded to all 1st, 2nd and 3rd place division winners. There are eleven divisions in both male and female age categories. Saturday, November 19 - 28th Santa's Village Craft Fair. Fauquier High School, Warrenton. 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Just in time to kick off the holiday season, this event includes music, children's craft, craft vendors and photos with Santa. Proceeds from this program will go to support the Fauquier High School After Prom committee, a non-profit. To learn more contact marshamelk@hotmail.com.

Saturday - Sunday, November 19-20 - Holiday Open House at Sky Meadows State Park. 11012 Edmonds Lane, Delaplane. 10am - 3pm. Get a glimpse into the daily life of a Confederate infantryman with the Hedgesville Blues as they recreate the life of a Civil War soldier; how he lived, marched and fought. Weapons, tactics, signal flag demonstrations, enlistment ceremonies, and unit drills will be held both Saturday and Sunday, with ongoing interpretation in the camp throughout the weekend. Sunday, November 20 - Downtown Culpeper Holiday Season Kickoff. Merchants will have their stores all decked out for the Holiday Season. Browse the wide array of specialty shops located in Historic Downtown Culpeper. Be sure to stay for the Community Tree Lighting with festive carols from Blue Ridge Chorale of Culpeper. Bring letters to Santa, meet Kris Kringle with toys for each girl and boy, enjoy hot cider, and cookies from Girls Scout Daisy Troop 381 to complete this wonderful day at 5:30 pm!
